04 Aug Indirock’s summer bouldering competition: The highlights
What a day to remember! Our competition brought so many amazing climbers and the atmosphere was electric.
Just like our finals of IndiBlock Stars, we had an amazing atmosphere all day, fuelled by our sponsors Tenzing, and from 4pm until late we had DJ Curly Dan keeping the energy high and the good tunes flowing.
This time around, we held two qualification rounds between 10am-4pm, followed by a quick bit of routesetting from Jakub Stec and team, then we went into our finals in the evening.
Thanks to all the people who chose to spend the day with us, especially those who travelled from as far away as Norfolk, Kent, Brighton and London!

Indirock is the biggest bouldering wall in Essex, and competition turnouts like this put Essex on the map! We invest in fresh routesetting every week by our talented head routesetter, Jakub Stec, our in-house routesetters Jack Thomas and Adam Snow, and a wide address book of freelance routesetters from across the UK. Our summer comp was guest-set by former Team GB climber and head routesetter for the Font, Matt Valera-Christie – thanks Matt!
