24 Jan Indirock holiday drop off sessions: everything you need to know
Indirock is an awesome venue in Southend-on-Sea, where climbers, newbies, families and parents can socialise, exercise and have fun!
As well as giving groups a venue to come and enjoy some time away from the real world, we also offer holiday drop-off sessions for young people who want to come and hang out and do their own thing.
The sessions run 10am-12pm Monday to Friday each school holidays, including this October half term. The two hour sessions are designed to give busy parents, carers, grandparents and sitters the chance to enjoy a bit of downtime while the kids wear themselves out.
So what happens at a holiday drop-off session and what do you need to know?
To book
If you’d like to join one of our holiday drop-off sessions for ages 6-13, we always recommend booking as these are limited to groups of 8 children.
Ages
First of all, sessions are for young people ages 6 years old to 13 years old. All climbers at Indirock need to be age 6 or over to climb, or they can join our dedicated pre-schooler Soft Play sessions every Tuesday and Friday (book Soft Play here).
Younger children can also enjoy the play area in our Coffee Shop, and we have baby changing facilities and space for prams. Indirock is fast becoming a favourite meet-up spot for mums and dads in Southend!
Register
All climbers do need to be registered with us prior to their climb. You can register here to save time when you arrive, but no worries if you don’t manage to as this can also be done at our front desk.
Drop and relax!
We always require under 18s to be supervised by an adult, but the holiday drop-off sessions allow for them to be supervised by an Indirock instructor so you don’t need to hang around. You can kick back and enjoy the Indirock Coffee Shop… or have a mooch around Southend’s high street.
Refuel
Once the session has ended, shoes are returned and sanitised by our team. You are welcome to grab a snack or drink in our Coffee Shop.
Feedback
We have a Feedback Box at reception and welcome feedback from your young ones. We love it when you tag Indirock in your photos and videos on social media too – we will re-share!
Make new friends
We encourage climbers to watch and learn from others, give encouragement and socialise as this is a massive benefit and can help build confidence, resilience and making new friends.
Fancy coming another time?
Can your young climber not get enough of Indirock? You’re welcome to supervise them climbing any time, no need to book!
If you’re supervising them, we will give you an induction to ensure you’re aware of climbing safety, and can keep their climbing development going with climbing tips from our instructors.
