Indirock’s Got Heart – We’re Up for Another National Award! 💛

We’ve got some seriously exciting news to share… Indirock has been shortlisted for a national award – and we couldn’t be more thrilled!

That’s right – we’re finalists for the Heart of Gold category in the 2025 Small Awards! 🎉 This category recognises small businesses that go above and beyond for their local community, and honestly? We think that sums up Indirock perfectly.

Why This Means So Much

If you’ve ever climbed with us, grabbed a coffee in our café, or just popped in to say hello, you’ll know Indirock isn’t your average climbing wall. We’re proudly non-profit, community-driven, and passionate about making bouldering accessible to everyone.

From offering job training and support to local young people, to playing a key role in the revitalisation of Southend’s high street, we’re committed to giving back to the town that’s supported us from day one. And being recognised for that effort on a national level? It means the world.

Even more exciting – this could be our third award win in just a few months! After everything we’ve overcome this past year, it’s a moment of celebration we’re holding close to our hearts.

What Are The Small Awards?

Run by Small Business Britain, the Small Awards are now in their ninth year, shining a spotlight on the creativity, resilience and impact of small businesses across the UK.

There are 11 categories, from sustainability champions to standout digital businesses – and we’re so proud to be finalists in the category that honours heart, soul, and community spirit. 💛

Here’s what Michelle Ovens, CEO of Small Business Britain, had to say:

“Every year, the Small Awards celebrate the UK’s most inspiring small business owners, who are the heart of their communities, and are fuelling the nation’s economic growth. The awards are a great opportunity to recognise the success and contributions of so many small businesses – Indirock is extremely deserving of being a finalist, and we look forward to celebrating together in May.”

A Word from Our Founder, Emily Vermont

“Indirock opened its doors during one of the most turbulent economic periods in recent history. To still be here in 2025 – and to be recognised with multiple awards – feels incredible. Thank you to Small Business Britain for believing in us and championing the work of small businesses nationwide. Fingers crossed for 22nd May!”

Thank You for Being Part of Our Journey

We’re keeping everything crossed for the awards night, but whatever the outcome, we’re just so proud to be on this journey with our amazing team, our awesome climbers, and the brilliant Southend community that’s had our back from the start.

💥 THANK YOU for being part of Indirock’s story.

And if you haven’t climbed with us yet… seriously, what are you waiting for?
