Indirock Volunteer Funding

Indirock secures UKSPF funding

We’re super excited that Indirock has secured funding which will allow us to provide work experience opportunities to vulnerable young people in our area this year.

Indirock was founded with 3 core aims:

To bring the adventure and enjoyment of bouldering to Southend

Being part of the revival of our town centre

Supporting vulnerable young people into work

Recently we secured UK Shared Prosperity Funding from the government to provide 15 work experience opportunities this year at Indirock, specifically for vulnerable young people in Southend.

Indirock is working with a handful of local charities to help us reach young people who can really benefit from this opportunity. Young people with special educational needs, from low income families and people on probation. They’ve hosted a few shifts already, and every time someone attends a shift, they get free access to Indirock’s climbing and courses.

CEO of Indirock, Emily Vermont, said:

“We are so happy to have received this funding from UK government to enable us to support vulnerable young people in our area. This was a big motivation for us setting up Indirock, so we look forward to focusing on this over the next year.”

Indirock is Essex’s biggest bouldering wall, offering top quality indoor rock climbing for all ages. We also have a great coffee shop!
